04 Jun 2018 - Gawai Carnival Redeems 2018

29 June – 1 July

The 13th edition of the Gawai Carnival Redeems will take place from June 29 to July 1 in Bau, located about 50 minutes from Kuching.

The Carnival showcases the rich Bidayuh cultural heritage of the Bau communities and aims to promote the region as a tourism destination.

Some of the events and attractions at the Carnival include traditional rituals, a beauty pageant, “Open House” at a longhouse, handicrafts demonstrations and food stalls as well as a Gawai Gala Dinner on May 30.

24 May 2018 - Borneo Jazz Wraps Up

The Borneo Jazz wrapped up on Sunday May 13 with Malaysia’s big stars taking the stage, much to the delight of the audience.

The festival’s star-studded Malaysian headliners such as Zainal Abidin, Dasha Logan, Michael Veerapen and Zee Avi won the hearts of many throughout the three day event.

They shared the stage with international artistes like Q Sound, Grzegorz Karnas Formula, Roby Lakatos and many more.

The event was covered by over 50 local and international media, some of whom proceeded on journalist programmes to other locations in Sarawak, to better promote it as a tourism destination.
